This is a little nit-picky: if I turn 65 in mid October, I can technically start receiving Medicare coverage (and paying for it) starting Jan 1st of the following year (3 months after the month you turn 65). You may be saying, why would you do that? Well, if you are getting enhanced ACA (Obama Care) you pay next to nothing in healthcare premiums and deductibles, so you would want to wait until January to save money. PRC calculated subsidy drops a lot for the year if Medicare starts in October. Can you manually pick the starting date for Medicare?

@pizzaman No, PRC doesn't have the capability for you to pick the Medicare start date; it always starts when you turn 65.
