It's hard to model the common (these days) case where someone has children from their first marriage along with their current spouse as beneficiaries of their IRA. It's hard to make the money disappear from the IRA without some kind of other undesired side effect (QCD seems to be the best choice right now). If the scheduled withdrawals drop down for account source had entries for each person for "No Taxes No Penalties" it seems it would solve the problem, along with a Miscellaneous expense to get the money out of the net worth.

Hi Bill,

Right, and we've put this on the enhancement list for the web version. Another way to go about it in the current version is to model the purchase of an annuity with no payout.

I think QCD is another way to do it, better than annuity as it gets the money off the books. Not perfect, but it works for now!
