When I'm working with clients, there's a slight issue where they designate phased expenses for groceries (essential) and restaurants/dining out (non-essential). However, if the restaurants aren't happening for whatever reason (i.e. plan is in danger) the groceries will certainly have to be higher to compensate. Ya gotta eat!
To solve this, perhaps somehow allowing a percentage or dollar amount of an expense that might be essential vs non-essential.
