Microsoft Excel says, "Must be a percentage between 0 and 100%" on PRC > FINANCIAL ASSETS > Asset Class Taxation (page) > TAXATION OF ASSETS IN REGULAR INVESTMENTS ACCOUNTS (table).
If unrealized capital gains is negative, then "Growth Taxed as LTCG When Withdrawn" column can be negative.
Example is attached.

How to deal with negative unrealized capital gains (loss)?

Thanks for looking into this.

Hi Wolfram,

Negative values make no sense in this table. What we're trying to do here is specify how the growth is apportioned between the five different taxation categories and that has nothing to do with whether the growth is positive or negative.

The user manual does provide some messy formulas for assisting you in taking information from a brokerage account report but I'd caution you about using a report from a particularly bad period as the basis for determining the values that go into this table. They should represent long-term averages.

Thanks for the explanation. It all makes sense now.

I dug up relevant historical numbers on my assets and will use those for my long-term averages.
