I notice when going through Review>Tabular Projections>Balance sheet that the starting year in the table does not match the other items in the menu options. In other words... the table under the Balance sheet starts with 2024/63/63 whereas the Review>Tabular Projections> income, expenses, cashflow, portfolio, account statements, scenario assumptions all say 2025/64/64. The 2025/64/64 is correct and matches up with my account balances as of Jan2, 2025.
The graphical output all start correctly with 2025/64/64... for some reason only the Review>Tabular Projections> Balance sheet is the only one that is off=?
@bfisher101 This is simply because, on the Balance sheet, it’s showing your starting balances in the first row (actually on this page we’re showing year-ending balances, so that's why it shows 2024 rather than 2025, meaning 12/31/2024). The ages, though, should probably be removed and we’ll take care of that in a future update. Showing year-ending values in the first year of the modeling period is generally not applicable to the other pages.
To add to Stuart's reply:
All tabular projections that show account balances, loan balances and property values include the gray row for the year prior to the plan start year so as to show the initial balances and values you entered.
Today I checked and all of these, except the balance sheet, explain this row as: "The first gray row is for the year prior to the plan start and shows the starting property values and loan balances at plan start, if applicable." or similar language applicable to the content of the tabular projection.
In the next release, I am adding a similar explanation to the Balance Sheet: "The first gray row is for the year prior to your plan start and shows the value of your accounts, other assets and liabilities, and net worth as of plan start."
There is an additional explanation on every tabular projection in the field name popup details (click the little circled i: ) ) by first column header
"Year/ Ages on Jan 1"
Thank you for asking about this. Adding the explanation to the Balance Sheet as well will be helpful for other subscribers, as well.
Also, some charts that show account balances, savings, etc, also show the savings as of year-end in the year prior to the plan start. Thus the lines show the starting values as of Jan 1 of the plan start year.
