The last section in the Pralana (online version) user manual describes the Data Security and related topics like what data is stored where. To recap, there are two sets of data, handled on different websites managed by different vendors.
- www.pralanaretirementcalculator.com handles your subscription and payment information, including name, address, etc. needed to purchase a subscription.
- Your plan data (first names, dates of birth, income/expense/asset information is stored separately on pralana.online hosted by a different vendor on other servers.
We use an encrypted single sign-on (SSO) process to transfer only your username and subscription level from pralanaretirementcalculator.com to pralana.online.
All of this and more is described in detail in the Data Security section of the user manual.
Congrats on finally getting there. Just two questions. I have Pralana gold excel 2024. The upgrade to online is $40. There are only 2 months left of the year. If I wait until January 2025, will it still be $40 or will it hop to the full price? I'm guessing that the $40 only applies during 2024 calendar year and that in January I will have to renew for the 2025 license. Also, even if I sign up for the online version , my excel 2024 will continue to work forever with admittedly incorrect tax rates, etc. Please confirm.
@gbogert Thanks! Upgrades to the online version will probably go to $89 (for the first year) in March 2025. PRC2024 Gold (Excel) will indeed continue to work forever, but will never be updated with new tax rates.
