Happy New Year's Eve!
This will be my first January as a Pralana user, and I am wondering what folks do to update their Pralana plan. Is there a list somewhere of standard actions to take. Should I change the plan's starting date? I would guess at a minium, I should update my account balances to match reality.
What do you suggest?
Thanks, all comments appreciated.
I had a similar question. In notice in the tab where you enter account balances, it says "Initial balances should
reflect the values as of the close of business on December 31, 2024 — the day before your plan begins." Should we wait until this updated in some way to refer to "December 31, 2025." Or do we just go ahead and change the numbers?
It looks as though at a minimum you (1) go to Build>>"Quick Start" and change the plan start date from 2025 to 2026 and then (2) go to Build>>"Initial Account Balances" and update the balances and other associated info. Then, I assume, go to "Advanced Portfolio Modelling" and change RoR assumptions and update any other variables you want.

For now, you can change the plan start year and update balances, and pension & SS benefit amounts and whatever other inputs need updating. But the 2026 tax brackets, IRMAA tiers, ACA FPL level, etc. are programmed in and will need to be updated by Stuart or Charlie.
