I was experimenting with calibrating Pralana Gold with RPM, so had zero'd out the General Inflation setting. I can't remember how Pralana behaved before that as to the following. I reset General Inflation to 2.6%, with nothing added or subtracted to my future SS income at age 70. I have current SS widow survivor income, which I entered as a temporary pension, 3% inflation.

Tabular Projections / Income or Expense does not show an increased amount in my SS future income, nor my expenses. I even tried entering a large Phased Expense for my remaining life, and checked off the COLA box, and it too does not increase on Tab Proj. This is true whether I toggle Todays $ or Future $. The only thing that increases with inflation is my temporary pension, which has its own inflation setting. This seems incorrect to me. Am I doing something wrong?

I don't see a way to edit my original post, so am adding here that the future $ toggle works for me in scenario 3. Since I am very new to the program, I suspect that I have done something in both scenario 1 and 2 that has messed this up. I'd appreciate thoughts as to where to look. I did modify the general inflation rate in all 3 scenarios, so I know it isn't that. I will next look to see if somehow I have entered negative inflation somewhere. Otherwise, I am at a loss.

@debit The only thing I can think of is that the general inflation rate is blank for scenarios 1 and 2 on the Home page. You always have the option of sending me (mail@pralanaconsulting.com) an export file and I can then easily determine the issue.

I am going to send you the export file. It's behaving very strangely, and I'm wondering if I corrupted it and need to start over. Inflation is definitely specified for all 3, and now Scenario 3 is also not showing a difference between today and future dollars.

I'm being told elsewhere to do a global clear, which I'm reluctant to do since I am so new and don't know what default settings I might therefore lose. Is there a way to "restore to default", with what Pralana comes with in the first place? Then I could make my changes with more confidence.

Anyway, my export file is on its way via email as instructed.

Stuart just solved my problem. Right below General inflation rate, somehow I had entered "model new inflation rate?" with a blank, but with a starting year of 2023. Hence, 0 inflation. Rookie move!
