The online version brings different questions for starting a new year. 1) How do we, or can we, compare 2024 to 2025 like we could with excel? I know we only pay for one version but a comparison would be nice. Maybe have 2024 available for a month or two? 2) When will the new tax tables be loaded? 3) Other than updating the starting year and current balances, is there anything else to know about the online versus the excel version for starting a new year?
@motogopher Regarding your #1, you could do this with the Excel version by either maintaining multiple copies of the PRC file or multiple export files. With Pralana Online, you can download backup copies of your data to your local system, so presumably you manage the filenames such that you will have a 2024 and a 2025 version of the data to compare manually, similar to the way you can do it with the Excel version.
Regarding #2, the new tax tables will probably be implemented in the first half of January, 2025.
Regarding #3, it's the same as with the Excel version: update the starting year, your account balances as of January 1, 2025, your assumptions about inflation and rates of return, etc, and your updated insights into income and expenses going forward, and then re-running the analyses.
