Hello - I have some private stock that will be sold in a couple of years. When is it sold it will be taxed as ordinary income (unfortunately).

What is the best way to track this? And how can I enter a sale of 100% of it in a couple of years as ordinary income?

Thanks

@doyle553 Curious - why are you planning to sell it in a couple of years? Much could happen by then. What if it goes down significantly? Do you mean "may sell it?"

@nc-cpl It is out of my control. Overall business sale.

@doyle553 What about defining it as a taxable windfall on the Income page?

@doyle553 I'd plug it in as a taxable windfall.

@hines202 I would like to see it in my current net worth and track annual investment change. Any other ideas?

@doyle553 Perhaps play around with using the annuity page? Or a custom asset class in your asset allocation, including the expected return, taxability, and time periods that satisfies having it, redemption, then not having it?
