Hi Stuart. Newbie to Pralana, steered here by many years on Bogleheads. In anticipation of your online version launching, I finally got around to downloading Bronze to to test-drive. Enjoying it so far. I have a question about setting up expenses.

I suspect I'm perfectly fine doing it this way, but want to make sure I'm not missing anything. I have a sprawling Excel sheet that my spouse and I track expenses on. It's divided into 8 categories (one of which is taxes) with a dozen or more entries per category. To keep things simple, I set up the expenses category to be the 7 categories, excluding taxes, and designated me as the "spender". Simple is better here, no? They are all recurring expenses, and I include a prorata amount for lumpy expenses (such as a car purchase) annually. There is no real benefit to making the expense categories within Pralana more granular, is there?

Cheers

@harry-livermore There's no real benefit to getting more granular in the Bronze tool; however, that's probably not so in the Gold tool or the pending on-line tool.
