I'm new, and not quite sure how to do this, or if I can. I think I'm supposed to use mode 2, from Financial Assets / Management /Asset allocation mode. Then on the Asset Classes and Allocations page, clearly I specify my Portfolio desired AA (40/60), and then Roth as 100/0. I can then enter my current AA by accounts, but is there a way to tell PRC that over the years I want to maintain my 40/60, giving preference to having stock in the Roth? I plan on doing Roth conversions for quite some time, and so eventually to keep my portfolio AA correct, the Roth would no longer be 100% stock.
How to I go about this, and then where would I see that it is working correctly?
Additionally, it looks like if I use this page, I would then need to enter my assume rates of return for stocks vs bonds. Is that correct?
@debit Yes, you need to use AA mode 2 if you want to have PRC automatically maintain a 40/60 stock/bond ratio across all your accounts over the whole modeling period. If you want to ensure that Roth is all stocks, then I'd recommend that you designate Roth first in the prioritized list on the FA > Asset Classes & Allocations page (note that the cells with the blue backgrounds is the prioritized list) and specify its target asset location as 100% stocks. Then, yes, you'd need to specify the real ROR for your stocks and bonds asset classes on that page.
There's a graph at the bottom of the FA > Asset Classes & Allocations page that shows the overall stocks/bonds allocations over time. You can go to the Tabular Projections > Allocations page (which you can customize via the View Mgmt page) to see the allocations per account on a year by year basis.
