I've let my online renewal lapse because I wasn't using it much. But now I'm having second thoughts. Is it true that the Excel based version renewal is about half the cost of online renewal?
Are there any plans to retire the Excel based version; that is, stop annual updates to reflect changes in tax codes and so on?
@marziale994 There are no plans to retire the Gold Excel version; however, it will not see many enhancements going forward other than staying current with the tax code. Gold annual upgrades are still $49 whereas the Pralana Online subscription currently costs $89, but that's where all the functional enhancements are occurring.

@smatthews51 Thanks, Stuart!
At the moment I don't think I need anything beyond what was available in Pralana Gold 2024. OTOH the only Excel copy I have is no longer valid on my PC, probably because I rebuilt the PC. Is it a requirement that a prior Excel version exist in order to renew to 2025 or 2026?
Also, is there some sort of time limit when a license cannot be renewed but must be purchased again? That goes for both Excel & Online Pralana.
Finally, can I freely export/import between Excel and Online Pralana?
Sorry for the deluge.
@marziale994 Regarding renewals of Pralana Gold, you must have the prior year model in order to get discounted upgrades to the next year. And, any given model will only import the export files created by the same or prior-year model. You're never forced to upgrade Pralana Gold; any given model will run indefinitely. That said, you need to understand that you cannot skip upgrades and still get discounts. If you do skip, you will have to pay full price to get the latest model. You mentioned that you don't think you need anything beyond PRC2024. I'll just point out that the OBBB is only implemented in PRC2025. Regarding Pralana Online, it's sold as an annual subscription. If you don't renew, you'll lose access on the anniversary of your purchase.
You can import Gold files into Pralana Online but you cannot import Online files into Gold.
