If I interpret things correctly, Pralana is currently unable to model SSDI income/benefits (for those receiving SS due to disability before reaching the age of 65). As such, I've used the workarounds found within the forum to assist modeling in that regard.
However, I'm encountering what I think is a related issue. Specifically, when running the Roth conversion optimizer, the results do not reflect the selected Medicare start age of my spouse. While I've input an age younger than 65 (Build/Expenses/Healthcare/Healthcare Expenses/General Settings) for my spouse, the results within the Roth Conversion results- "Details by Year" is suggesting no one is enrolled in the first several years within the Medicare IRMAA column. This is, most likely, preventing an accurate optimal Roth conversion strategy.
Am I overlooking/missing something or is this another limitation/possible bug with Pralana Online? Thanks for the help.
@hh22 Pralana does not currently support the start of Medicare benefits prior to age 65 despite the fact that the start age field actually allows you to input an eariler age. The note above that field says you can use this field to DELAY benefits if you're still employed at age 65, and that's currently the only purpose for this field. So, I think this is probably why you're seeing an "n/a" in the IRMAA bracket headroom column prior to age 65 on the Roth conversion page.
