Hi, is it possible to customize a tabular projection in Pralana Online? Custom, meaning - choosing which fields to include from all possible fields. For instance, in Pralana Gold, I created a custom tabular sheet that I called "To Do"... The sheet contained Roth Conversions, withdrawals, and items I might want to act on, such as capital gains. -Mike
Never mind. I just found the gold and online differences and it clearly states that customized tabular projections are not yet implemented.
Thanks Bill, the challenge with that is... some of the fields I'm interested in - are on different exports. (I think I had to export 5 different sheets)@mikmartn For now, just export to a spreadsheet and customize away.
It's doable, but if I change anything, I have to re-export and perform the customization over. 🙁 -Mike
I would very much love a feature where I can export ALL non-zero columns to one excel sheet. Alternately, to export all the tables into one file with different sheets.
Am I correct in assuming that currently I have to export from each section of Pralana online individually? That's 10+ exports to get all the data into one spreadsheet. I just want to make sure I'm not missing some current feature. And if not, I suspect this function may be added in the future...an "export all non-zero columns"? 🙂
@stkeros I can confirm that you are NOT missing a current feature but customization of the tabular projections is something that we're considering for a future enhancement of the tool. I'll also add the global export to the list for consideration. Thanks for the suggestion!
Stuart
I would say a global export or at least an easier way to export all the data is personally my biggest request and the biggest barrier to me in terms of interacting with clients, compared to Gold. My workflow was to export everything, then hide what's unnecessary. Such that for any given year/age ALL the data can be found by scrolling right (or jumping to another sheet depending on what I'm trying to do. I would either make a video to orient the client and to help them explore, or we'd have a discussion while looking at the shared spreadsheet output.
With Online, even with a screenshare, it's nearly impossible do to that. I'm constantly jumping to (for example) "see on your taxes tab your marginal rate is increasing each year...so now...wait, let's go to the employment tab to see...no, I think it was the annuity...yes...see how that annuity income led to the increase in the...hold on, back to taxes...increase in the AGI..." 🙂
I love the online version but this aspect is the biggest "step back" from Gold.
@smatthews51 Thanks and btw, in case it wasn't clear my tone was meant to be one of "pretty please" and with a smile perhaps to get a certain feature I want to move up on the list in case of a "tie" with all the other pending improvement, and not a foot stomping whiney criticism. 🤗 You guys are doing a great job!
Just as an FYI, there are around 50 different tabular projections. And some may be used multiple times. For example, every property and rental property loan (purchase, refi, HELOC, HEL), investment, personal and student loan will have a loan amortization table. Every property and rental property will have its own cash flow summary.
I think what you are asking for is for the 'main' tabular projections under the Review > Tabular Projections menu. Currently there are 31 or so of those.
It is my intention to give you a checklist so you can select the tables you want to export, all to a single .xlsx file, in one shot. I have no ETA for this at this time, but it will happen.
Also, on the new feature list, is to allow you to create your own custom report, selecting from a list of available columns.
Thanks,
Charlie

Thanks for the update. I think it would indeed be great to have the property/rental/loan breakdowns for each individual one (as an option) but not a priority compared to other data. There are indeed times, however, when the end of a depreciation period for a property makes a big difference in taxable income that can be hard to find if you don't know to look for it.
