Hello, just starting to play with Pralana Online. Imported my export file and starting to get the hang of where things are slowly!

One view which was handy was the "Summary Report" to zoom into the details of a particular year or at least the next few years. The lens gets murkier the further out the model goes but it's really nice to get the details on the closest year without a gazillion clicks through different screens.

Did I just miss where it is in the new version? Thanks for any guidance.

Have you looked at Review-Balance Sheet? That's become my go-to report to look at and then branch out from there. The cool part is that you can click on the balance in any account in any year (the underlined fields) and get the ins and outs for that account during the year. That makes it much easier to track down places where your intentions and the models actions are not on the same wavelength.

Note that in the spreadsheet, there was no fixed definition of what was on the Summary page, you could customize it on Tabular Projections - View Management. You can't do that in the online, it uses predefined screens only.

IMHO this is the biggest functional improvement from the Excel version. The "Metric MRI" answers so many questions for me that I couldn't get in Excel, esp where the summary number came from. The popup shows the sources of debits and credits behind the number, allowing me to trace the numbers and adjust accordingly.

I would like a tabular summary report that combines cash flow and balance sheet items. To be able to see by year the summary info: income, expenses, cash flow/withdrawals, account balances, net worth. Does this exist in the online version?

In the excel version I would customize the summary report selecting the columns above to show this combined cash flow and balances info.

@doyle553 No, all of that does not exist in a single view but I invite you to enter a feature request via the tool's built-in feedback mechanism. That will put it on our candidate enhancement list.

Thanks,

Stuart

Thanks for the tip on Review->Balance Sheet and the popup links! That's very useful to track down what exactly the model is using vs. what is reality. Still think it would be nice to have a "yearly report" zoomed into a particular year because it will save a lot of clicking around.
