I'm seeing an increase in my clients who have 401k plans at their employers that are allowing in-plan Roth conversions. These allow the employee to max out their yearly tax-deferred number in the regular 401k, and then do after-tax contributions in subsequent paychecks that are then converted immediately into the Roth. It's a strategy that defeats the typical limits on contributions, and essentially is a mega-backdoor Roth conversion since it's through the employer's 401k.
It would be great to see this in PRC, since it's becoming quite popular.
