How-do-I Do a Particular Thing in PRC?

If I go into View Management and turn off some empty columns for a more concise report, and then later change some metrics, which causes those columns to then have data, will they automatically be turned back on, or a warning that there are hidden columns that contain data be issued

No, they are not turned on again automatically. It's totally on you to specify the view. Otherwise, there'd be no way for you to actually control what was and was not displayed. This would also eliminate your ability to limit the contents of a view to 10 columns so that it could be read on the PDF reports (the font on any page greater than 10 columns would be too small to read).
